India is contributing to the goal of the CEM Global Lighting Challenge through the Domestic Efficient Lighting Programme and the LED based Street light Programme, launched in 2015 with a goal of 770 million LED bulbs and 35 million street lights using energy efficient LED bulbs in three years’ time.
